Field Work Directives

In a construction project, field work directives are issued to handle unexpected events and account for work. A field work directive can instruct contractors to complete additional work, correct unacceptable work, or perform emergency work. A field work directive is sometimes referred to as a field order, or a work directive.

A field work directive can also be used to provide clarification about the work a contractor or subcontractor is supposed to perform.

To create a field work directive

1. On the View menu, click Field Administration > Field Work Directives, and then select a view.
2. Click .

The Field Work Directives form is displayed.

3. Enter the following information:
• Number*: The number for the field work directive.
• Subject: The subject of the field work directive.
• Type: The type of field work directive.
• Reason: The reason for the field work directive.
• Closed: Select this check box to indicate that the field work directive is considered closed.

* This field is required.

4. To save the changes and keep the form open, click > Save.
