Referencing Drawings and Specifications in an RFI
When you submit an RFI, referencing a particular drawing or set of drawings may assist the person answering the RFI. For example, if you need part of a drawing clarified, create a link to the appropriate Drawings and Specifications.
The Contract Drawings tab lists all drawings and specs that have been linked to the RFI.
Security Requirement: To view this tab, you must be given the 'Record Set' permission for the Drawings and Specifications record. This permission can only be granted by your administrator.
To reference a drawing or specification in an RFI record
- In the Request for Information form, click the Contract Drawings tab.
- Click Add.
- Select one or more documents to link to the RFI, and then click
.
- Drawing: A read-only field that displays the name of the drawing or specification.
- Revision: A read-only field that displays the revision number for the drawing or specification.
- Date: A read-only field that displays the submitted date for the drawing or specification.
- Detail / Section: The section for the linked document.
- Comments: Comments about the linked file.
- Files: Click the files button to attach a file from the library or to link a URL to the item. The number on the files button indicates the number of files or URLs that are linked to this item. For more information on how to add linked files, see "Linking Files or URLs to a Record".
- Delete: If you select a row for deletion, this check box is selected, and the row is deleted when you save the record.
- To retrieve any documents that are linked to the drawings and specifications document, click Get Files.
- To save the changes and keep the form open, click
> Save.
